Aaron Ashley Adiego
Web Developer + Designer
After a nearly 8 year journey of switchbacks and reorgs up Paramount Mountain, I've been impacted, as it's said, by layoffs.
So, I'm ready for a new mission.

Work
Some things I've made professionally
Poring over details seen and unseen, I solve design problems and develop them into dynamic online experiences. I've created hundreds of digital touchpoints, from responsive ads to complete websites for brands large and small. I thrive on finding paths to solutions and delighting stakeholders and end users with the result.
-
Skybox
A responsive high-impact ad product.
Spanning the top of Paramount's web properties, Skybox offers a premium canvas for brand exposure. Created with video and interactivity at its core, this highly performant placement has become the company's flagship display ad product.
I designed and developed this unit while on the CBS Interactive Studio 61 design team in a first of its kind collaboration with ad ops and site developers, and continued to own its codebase throughout the duration of my tenure with the company. Final creatives are built exclusively by an in-house team of designers from a client-distributable PSD template I also developed, ensuring consistent quality across phone, tablet, and desktop.
For clients wishing to go beyond the template, Skybox provides near-limitless possibilities for customization. I've integrated live video streams, interactivity, and animation as well as an array of client and internal APIs, driving shoppable solutions, booking workflows, and geo-specific content.
-
RPDR + bubly Microsite
A sponsored second screen experience.
Created in-house by Paramount Brand Studio, this Ru Paul's Drag Race campaign sponsored by bubly featured an on-air QR code that drove visitors to a fictitious business microsite. I owned development, working closely with designers to define the page structure and advise upon interactive and responsive concerns, and with marketers to ensure metrics were tracked in support of the client's goals.
-
Caesars Sportsbook Partner Ads
A seamless integration of up to the minute odds.
I was tapped to develop a system of sports betting ads to facilitate first time deposits at a partner's online sportsbook. Created in collaboration with the sports data team and multiple app and site groups, placements are powered by an internal API delivering real-time odds as contextually as possible across any given league, team, or game.
-
Sonic The Hedgehog Memory Challenge
A skinnable game in a Skybox.
During my time with the ViacomCBS Marketing Innovation Team, I developed a series of templated simple game experiences to be made available as sponsored packages on the Nickelodeon home page. Leveraging an extra-expandable Skybox and house IP, this hero example was featured heavily in sales decks and led to several completed deals.
-
AT&T March Madness
A personalized video in your bracket.
As part of an annual tournament sponsorship, AT&T takes full share of voice within CBS Sports' bracket games, anchored by a user-specific ad experience via Skybox. Through an integration with the Fantasy Sports team, I developed a dynamic creative where one of a trio of videos are served to users, each providing praise or encouragement, depending upon their bracket standing. To further personalize the messaging, a user's name and correct pick count are overlaid seamlessly in sync with the video's playback, for a one-of-a-kind experience.
-
Snickers Fantasy Football
A smack talk banner in your face.
Using Snickers' brand kit, I developed a dynamically populated banner to sass fantasy football players. With targeted phrases generated from each user's (and their opponent's) team name and league record, iterations of this creative prove popular year after year.
-
Cyberpunk Takeover
A homepage from a dystopian future.
I developed a skinned Cyberpunk theme for GameSpot to coincide with the game's long-awaited launch. With a toggleable preference, the takeover injected an altered dark mode skin that persisted site-wide.
-
CNET Deals
A dynamic shoppable strip.
-
YouTube Mastheads
A star for a day atop the most visited page on the internet.
-
Matterport Website
A starter home for a 3D camera that maps your space.
Now ubiquitous to any real estate posting, Matterport was unknown when I developed and launched their first marketing and ordering website. Powered by Wordpress and Stripe, it showcased immersive demos and multi-industry use cases for the breakthrough 3D imaging tech.
-
Children's Creativity Museum Website
A whimsical Webby honoree.
I developed a Wordpress-based site for the Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco. With a full-featured desktop experience to plan a visit and a mobile companion to bring along, creativity.org featured a colorful, fully-custom theme with rich illustrations and thoughtful animations throughout.
A 2012 Webby Awards Cultural Institutions Honoree.
-
Worldreader Website
A non-profit working to end illiteracy through e-books.
I developed a website for Worldreader to share their mission, accept donations through a partner API integration, and recognize donors via a dynamic public wall.
Play
Some things I've made for fun
-
Blomphy
A parody push notification app.
I made this web app to troll my kids via push notifications from a "deranged and estranged cousin" of a certain children's entertainer. Enforced by Screen Time controls, Blomphy's alerts are inescapable. Unfortunately, he's currently offline while I roll my own (free) service worker, but he'll return when the kiddos least expect it.
-
LEGO Bocce Trophy
A unique league championship memento.
Commissioned for the Play Bocce In Dogpatch Spring 2023 League Championship, this original LEGO creation is comprised of pieces from Marvel Infinity Gauntlet set 76191, Bricklink, and my collection.
Won by the team from Dogpatch Saloon, it's now proudly displayed above the bar. Grab a drink and check it out at 3rd & 22nd Streets in SF.
-
Mini Chess
A brick-built travel companion.
Created to pass the time while on the go, this original LEGO build has enjoyed hours of play throughout many journeys. With a stud for each square and rattle-free internal storage, pieces stay put on bumpy rides.
About
I'm Aaron and I make things
Whether it's LEGO, 3D printing, or web development, it's likely I'm tinkering with some creative project in my free time.
Venturing beyond the studio, I enjoy existing in nature, exploring beer and cuisine around the world, and spending time with my wife and daughters, and our dog.
